Product Description

High Stiffness Ratio Wrought Magnesium Alloy For Automobile Industries

Introduction:

Magnesium alloys have the advantages of high specific strength and specific stiffness, good thermal conductivity, damping and shock absorption, electromagnetic shielding, easy processing and easy recycling, etc., and have extremely important applications in the fields of automobiles, electronic communications, aerospace and defense military. Value and broad application prospects, known as "21st century green engineering materials".

Compared with cast magnesium alloys, wrought magnesium alloys have greater development potential. Through the control of material structure and the application of heat treatment processes, wrought magnesium alloys can obtain higher strength, better ductility and more diverse mechanics. performance, so as to meet the application requirements of diverse engineering structural parts. Wrought magnesium alloys often need to be heated to a certain temperature and processed by hot forming techniques such as extrusion, rolling and forging.

Application:

The original application of wrought magnesium alloys was in the military aviation industry. Since 1934, Germany has used many magnesium alloy parts in aircraft. During World War II, the United States used 5555kg magnesium alloy plates, 700kg magnesium alloy forgings and 300kg magnesium alloy castings on the world's largest bomber B-36 (total weight 162727kg) designed and produced at that time. After World War II, DOW Chemical Company moved the world's largest extruder (14,000t) manufactured in Germany for the magnesium industry to the United States and installed it on its magnesium alloy deformed product production line. During the 1950s, DOW Chemical Company produced a large number of magnesium alloy sheets for the aerospace and rocket industries. The main applications of magnesium alloys in missiles are: magnesium alloy plates for shells, ribs, baffles (frames) and hoops, control equipment boxes and reinforcement ribs, engine intake ducts, nose cone shells, external streamlined Covers, combined hatches, radar antennas, pneumatic container devices; magnesium alloy extrusions for frame, stringers, support fittings, brackets, signal navigators, external casings for wires and pipes, external reinforcement ribs for control equipment and internal reinforcement Ribs (wing, frame, trailing edge) etc.
